| There is however a way to narrow down on career choices based upon your personality, interest, abilities and priorities. In fact there are tools that will take someone through the process of figuring out your personality, identifying your interests and how they map to a specific career. At this point, you explore this career and create a plan. Having 7th – 12th graders begin this process, will definitely enhance their success rate and remove the ambiguity about a career search upon high school graduation. The career discovery process will even show you whether to pursue a job training track, a technical school track or a traditional college track. You can even learn during this process whether you want to be a business owner or a corporate employee. Career discovery will give meaning to the classes you take in school, the extra curricular activities you are involved in and the volunteer activities you signup for. |
